In today’s quick little post, I want to give you a sneak peek look behind the scenes of what’s going on in my head and my heart as I launch my online event this Christmas season called “Celebrate the Story: And See How the Savior Renews Yours.” I just have to say that I am really excited and hopeful at the same time. I would also have to add, because I have promised to stay authentic to my friends and readers, that I am a little fearful.
So, if you have a few minutes, join me in between your holiday list making and baking and read on.
First, why I am so excited. There are a couple of reasons! I am really looking forward to sharing some of what has been going on in my life. Mainly because the “what” has a lot to do with the “Who” (notice the capital “W”) and quite frankly, He needs to be praised! The reality is, it has been a really long time since I have put my foot forward online for anything other than my everyday stuff. Which I love, by the way. My every day with my hubs and my kids is eventful enough in and of itself but sharing my life with friends is a whole other thing. And I’ve been avoiding it.
Which brings me to the next reason why I am excited: my friends. I honestly feel like you (local peeps and Facebook friends alike) are forever long-lost sistas of mine and we’re finally meeting back together in this moment (well, in an online event that is)– after what can only be described as an overly extended but absolutely necessary time of absence. For those of you who might not know, it has almost been an entire year since I have committed to anything outside of my family and my job—and that includes all things ministry and all things pertaining to the sharing of my life and my teaching with others.
To be frank with you, I’ve been in hiding. It’s okay. That’s where I was supposed to be. There’s a lot more to come about why, how , and what exactly happened before and during my absence-without-leave story and I promise I’m going to put myself out there. Because when God says put your foot forward, He asks you to do it in faith and when He asks you to do something in faith, you can do it with confidence in Him.
Knowing this, knowing His character, makes me hopeful. Not because I am back online, offering a women’s event for the Christmas season, but because I am convinced now more than ever in my life that He is faithful.
So, despite a little fear that will likely always come in my flesh when I walk by faith, I am more than ready to join you, my friends, in some time spend together focusing on The Story of the season. I don’t know about you, but it’s always a challenge to keep myself centered on Christ in the month of December. Probably because I am a procrastinator when it comes to shopping and baking and wrapping! This year, however, I am anticipating a true celebration in my heart and in my soul as we look into Eve and Mary’s stories and how they merge together in Christ’s story. I know that His story is constantly renewing my story. And I know He’s renewing yours, too.
No matter where you and I are at, or where we’ve been, or where we are going. . . He’s doing something new and good and absolutely, worth celebrating!
So join me! Visit me here on Facebook for more information on how to participate in the online Christmas event.
