What is LEAD-Her-SHIP?
Lead-HER-Ship exists to encourage and equip women leaders within the local church context and the community and beyond. It includes Lead-HER-Ship Connect, which are quarterly meetings for women in the Central MO area who want the opportunity to network with other leaders and be encouraged in the ministry. Lead-HER-Ship also includes The Institute, which are workshops and courses that are focused on training women in ministry. Areas of study include biblical literacy, how to study the Bible, an apologetic of women’s ministry, vision casting and follow through, organizing ministries, and personal ministry effectiveness. These courses may be offered locally at venues, or brought directly to your church.
A few words about ministry . . .
In 2006, in my local congregation, I surrendered the call to ministry without one single idea of what I should do or what the Lord Himself could do with that act of obedience. I just knew that I loved His Word and that I was almost obsessively passionate about teaching it to women.
The next thirteen years of my life outside of being a wife to my husband and a mother to our children was spent loving and serving my local church body as the Women’s Ministry Director. Teaching women, leading women to a closer walk with Christ, mentoring women, overseeing women’s studies and events, and shepherding other women leaders was and still is a joy that I count as a privilege.
There’s no way of getting around it–ministry is hard. Whether you are a director of programs, a pastor’s wife, an office assistant, a small group leader or a teacher to women–you will continually be faced with one challenge after another; with victories in between. It’s a brave walk that requires utter dependence on the Lord as He leads you to lead others.
My vision for Lead-HER-Ship Institute is to bring women and women leaders face-to-face with the Scriptures and a few key practical resources, while using my own stories and training and experiences, to encourage and equip them to become more effective in their roles. To come alongside you as you go alongside other women in the Name of Christ and using the gifts He has given you.
